Our roots begin in the 1970s, when our father journeyed from West Bengal, Calcutta, to the island once known as Ceylon — the legendary Gem Island of the Indian Ocean. There, he met our mother, built a family, and devoted his life to the world of precious stones. For over four decades, he stood as a beacon of integrity in the gem and jewelry trade, guided by unwavering ethics, truthfulness, and a sacred promise: your word is your bond. Beyond business, he was a spiritual guide, teaching us that gemstones are not merely objects of beauty or wealth, but living gifts of the Earth, carrying energy, history, and purpose.
Growing up among gem mines, master cutters, and international collectors, I was immersed in this world from childhood. Yet it was years later, after my father’s passing and during my time in New York’s famed 47th Street Diamond District, that a deeper realization emerged. I saw how modern society had come to view jewelry almost exclusively as luxury or investment—forgetting its ancient role as a tool for healing, protection, and the elevation of human consciousness. I felt a calling to restore that sacred connection.
Ideas alone, however, remain dreams until they find form. That is where my wife, Thanuja, enters our story. We met in 2004 and married in 2012. She became the grounding force behind every vision—the one who transformed inspiration into structure, and imagination into reality. Where I carry the seeds of ideas, she gives them roots, nurturing them into living creations. Together, we began shaping a future not only for ourselves, but as a legacy for our children and for the world.
This shared vision gave birth to Exorti—a bridge between ancient wisdom and future technology. Through Exorti and its research arm, we explore how innovation such as augmented reality, immersive experiences, and AI can serve the timeless world of gems. From there emerged Aura by Exorti, an AI-powered spiritual wellness companion, and Aviyanka Fine Jewelry, named after our daughter, honoring her bold, creative spirit and our commitment to ethical sourcing and Sri Lankan craftsmanship. Each creation carries the same intention: to unite beauty, energy, and consciousness.

My journey begins even before I was born, when my father traveled from West Bengal, Calcutta, to Sri Lanka in the 1970s. There, on the island known as the “Gem Island of the Indian Ocean,” he met my mother and built a life devoted to precious stones. He established a gem and jewelry business founded on integrity, truth, and spiritual values. For him, a promise was sacred, and ethics were non-negotiable. These principles became the foundation of our family legacy, now spanning over 45 years.
I grew up surrounded by gem mines, master craftsmen, and international traders. From an early age, I learned to see gemstones not only as objects of beauty or wealth, but as living treasures of the Earth, carrying energy and meaning. My father was not only my mentor in business, but also my guide in life and spirituality, shaping how I viewed purpose, honesty, and service.
My path led me to New York’s 47th Street Diamond District, where I worked closely with leading diamond and jewelry sellers and gained firsthand experience in global trade and e-commerce. It was during this period, and especially after my father’s passing, that a profound realization arose within me. I saw how the world had reduced gems and jewelry to symbols of luxury and investment, forgetting their ancient role as tools for healing, protection, and the upliftment of human consciousness.
In 2012, I married my wife, Thanuja, whom I had met in 2004. While I carried many ideas and visions, they remained only seeds until she came into my life. She became the force behind the scenes—the one who brought structure, discipline, and reality to my dreams. Together, we began to shape not just a business, but a purpose-driven legacy for our children and for the world.
With this shared vision, we founded Exorti Inc in the United States. Our aim was to become a bridge between the ancient world of gemstones and the future of technology. In 2020, we soft-launched Exorti.com with 21 sellers and over 5,000 products, creating one of the first dedicated online marketplaces for fine jewelry and gems in North America.
As the platform evolved, the vision expanded further. We envisioned Exorti R&D in Canada to develop augmented reality, 3D immersive experiences, and customization tools for the jewelry industry. Yet beyond technology, a deeper purpose guided us—to return gemstones to their original role as carriers of energy and consciousness.

Today, my wife and I are building more than companies. We are building a living legacy—one that honors my father’s ethics, our Sri Lankan heritage, and our responsibility to future generations. Our vision is to open a new doorway for humanity, where Earth’s treasures, ancient wisdom, and modern innovation come together to guide people back to their inner awareness and higher consciousness.
